Dr. Atkins received her medical degree from the University of Colorado in 1995. Her undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Physical Science and Secondary Education from Colorado State University. She completed her residency in family practice at Denver's St. Joseph Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and has been practicing locally since 1998. A strong advocate of patient education, she is especially interested in women's and children's health issues and emergency medicine. Dr. Atkins is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Wilderness Medical Society. Dr. Atkins and her husband have two children.
