BCHL provides outreach services to physician offices, clinics, and hospitals throughout Boulder County and northeastern Colorado. BCHL offers six lab service sites within Boulder County, including two hospital-based laboratories. BCHL technical staff consists of certified Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Laboratory Assistants, Cytotechnologists, and Histotechnicians. We are proud to offer these highly trained laboratory professionals for your service. The professional staff at BCHL is committed to staying abreast of new and developing technologies so we actively promote continued medical laboratory education. Staff members are encouraged to attend local workshops, national conventions, technology shows, and national teleconferences. Many staff members are also active in their respective national and local professional organizations.  Boulder Valley Pathology (BVP) currently oversees BCHL operations. The Americal Board of Pathology certifies the BCHL Medical Director as well as the four other BVP pathologists. In addition, one Pathologist is further certified in Forensic Pathology, another in Dermatopathology. This highly skilled team supervises all procedures and policies within our laboratories. BCHL hospital based laboratories are certified as highly complex laboratories by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA). They are also accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations(JCAHO) and by the College of American Pathology (CAP).  BCHL complies with all state and federal laws that regulate laboratory testing and billing. BCHL Administrative Director also serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer for Boulder Community Hospital so a compliance plan is in effect to ensure adherence to all billing regulations for federally funded healthcare programs (Medicare and Medicaid). BCHL uses Mayo Medical Laboratories (MML) as our primary referral laboratory due to their worldwide reputation for excellence and their support of community based medicine. MML offers a comprehensive testing menu as well as support services to promote the local laboratories role in the delivery of quality patient care.
